Biel, October 11, 2010, 7:00 a.m. Johann N. Schneider-Ammann steps down from Mikron Board of Directors; Heinrich Spoerry becomes new Chairman of the Board. Ammann Group Holding AG will retain its holding in Mikron.
Following his election to the Swiss Federal Council by the United Federal Assembly on 22 September 2010, Johann N. Schneider-Ammann will step down as the Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Mikron Holding AG on 26 October 2010. Heinrich Spoerry will become the new Chairman of the Board, having been a member since 2001.
The composition of the group of investors that was formed under Johann N. Schneider-Ammann’s leadership in 2003 and rescued Mikron from impending bankruptcy will remain unchanged. Ammann Group Holding AG will continue its role as a long-term, sustainability-focused investor by retaining its holding in Mikron.

Member since 2001, elected until 2013
Heinrich Spoerry was a member of the Executive Board of Staefa Control Systems AG from 1987 to 1995 and a member of the Executive Board of Cerberus AG, Männedorf, from 1996 to 1998. Mr Spoerry then became Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the SFS Group in Heerbrugg, a position he has occupied since 1998. Among other posts, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Bucher Industries AG and of Tegula AG in Zurich.
The group of investors comprises Ammann Group Holding AG, Mr Rudolf Maag, Tegula AG, the employee benefits foundation of Rieter AG and Corporate Investment Management Affentranger Holding AG, who are bound together until 2011 by a shareholder pooling agreement with a fixed term of 3 years. The group held 70.3% of Mikron Holding AG’s share capital on 31 December 2009.
