New division names. Uniform brand identity.
The Mikron Group has changed the names of its two divisions and the brand identity of the entire company to match its current strategic direction with effect from 1 January 2010.
Combination tools are first choice for productive cutting solutions.
Agno  To stay competitive it is a must to invest in productive cutting solutions. Special tools are, unlike standard cutting tools, developed for a particular cutting operation and are often designed to cover several different machining steps. They are optimized for the required machining process and thus guarantee the best conditions for a precise, economical high volume production of precision parts

Mikron concludes consultation process at Agno
The consultation process initiated as part of the previously announced capacity adjustment at Mikron’s site in Agno ended today. Management has reached agreement on the details with the company’s employee representative body; the trade unions were also involved in this process. Under the agreement, headcount at Agno will be reduced by 116 full-time posts. The affected employees are being informed.

The Mikron Group, a specialist in the production of machining and assembly automation systems, is planning a major capacity adjustment at its Machining Technology division's main site in Agno. Mikron intends to secure the Agno site's future by means of a headcount reduction of up to 130. A consultation process is in progress with the social partners while the affected employees are being informed.

Bruno Cathomen to become new COO of the Machining Technology division
The Mikron Group’s Machining Technology division, which specializes in manufacturing customer-specific machining solutions, is to get a new head. On 1 October 2009, Bruno Cathomen will become its Chief Operating Officer (COO). As of the same date, the current COO, Markus Schnyder, will take over responsibility for the division’s tool business. As such, the company will still be able to benefit from his services. Mikron is delighted about this and would like to thank Markus Schnyder for his work as COO over the last six years.
