Expansion of Mikron Automation headquarters in Boudry

Boudry – Mikron Automation starts construction work on the expansion of its headquarters in Boudry. With this expansion, Mikron SA Boudry is securing additional capacity and workplaces to enable the continuous growth of its automation business.

The start of the building expansion officially began on Monday, June 29 in the presence of the partners and the local and state authorities. This milestone is the result of Mikron SA Boudry’s great success in its market. Part of the Mikron Automation division, Mikron SA Boudry is the European leader in the engineering and manufacturing of high-performance assembly solutions for customers mainly active in the Pharmaceutical and Medtech industries as well as in the Electrical, Consumer Goods and Automotive industries.

Capacity expansion and improved working environment for future growth
An additional 7,800 m2 will be added to the current factory to not only increase its assembly capabilities but also to improve the material and logistical flow. The new area will provide additional assembly space, while allowing the company to completely reorganize the assembly floor workflow. By regrouping all engineering functions on the second floor Mikron will provide an efficient and attractive working environment for its employees.

“We are building a green plant with a large smart office to suit our organizational evolution, optimize the working environment, build a customer campus, and increase customer satisfaction. The new factory will be fully operational in December 2021.”


Over 400 jobs in the region
The new factory setup will offer a better working environment and make it more attractive to current and future employees. Mikron SA Boudry employs more than 400 people, 50% of whom are engineers, 30% technicians, 10% apprentices and 10% administrators.
