Your main tasks / Key Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Internal Machining Manager oversees the daily operations of the Internal Machining department, ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality and safety standards, and optimization of resources. This role involves managing a wide team of polymechanics, developing production schedules, and implementing process improvements to achieve departmental goals. On top, this role involves the responsibility of the Apprentice Center, with the direct responsibility of the entire polymechanic training program (4 year).

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication/Manufacturing Processes: Responsible to define and implement the manufacturing strategies for the milling and turning machines (CNC machines), in order to achieve the defined target (machines utilization rates, productive hours). Ensure high quality standards by minimizing the Non-Conformity rate.
   
Apprentice Centers Processes: Responsible for proper implementation of the apprenticeship training program over a 4-year period, in order to ensure proper and efficient time allocated to the training hours and consequent successful achievement of the CFC certification in Polymechanics.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance metrics and dashboards to monitor operational performance and make necessary adjustments.
    
Training and Guidance: Provide training and support to teams on new processes and improvement opportunities. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the main processes within the department

Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and operational standards (ISO and ESG).

 

Your profile

Education and experience

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Proven experience in machining operations and management
Skills: Knowledge of CNC programming and operation, with experience in various machining equipment. Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft package tools (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint). Deep knowledge of Process Improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC preferred). Knowledge of SAP is a strong asset.

Qualities

Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, direct and indirect reports.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Languages: very good knowledge of French, and English, German knowledge strongly recommended
Additional Information: Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific regulatory standards and requirements is a plus
