Your main tasks

The Buyer II is responsible for independently supporting Procurement activity, Supplier Management and project teams during design, assembly and debug phases of Mikron projects. Another key function of this role is to support company goals, values, and operating principles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

Supplier Management

  • Identify and develop new suppliers to improve supply base
  • Shorten Leadtime for supplier fabricated parts
  • Qualify new suppliers per Mikron’s ISO 13485 standards
  • Adhere to all ISO 13485 procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide feedback regarding supplier performance as required by Mikron’s ISO 13485 procedures

Purchasing

  • General knowledge of common commodities of Metal Fabrications, Machined Parts, electrical, mechanical, automation products to support overall operations
  • Understanding of commodities, engineering documentation, manufacturing process, methods, and procedures
  • Lead supplier price negotiations
  • Local supplier knowledge. Add to local supplier team for quicker turn around and better quality. Quick turn parts
  • Buyer II has autonomy to select vendor for purchasing decisions.
  • Issue Quote requests, issue Purchase orders, enter acknowledgements and follow up information as directed
  • Maintain good working relationships with suppliers
  • Work directly with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies as needed
  • Act as Key User for MRP processes
  • Assist and train newer team members in learning processes and procedures
  • Provide feedback to manager regarding performance of lower-level buyers

    Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in or Supply Chain or related field.
  • 2-4 years working experience in automation or manufacturing
  • SAP knowledge required with a minimum of 2 years experience
  • APICS or CPM certification (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite. Excel, Power Point, Word

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state driver license
  • Must be able to work overtime as dictated by project need
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Follow all safety policies, precautions, and procedures
  • Follow department working instructions from manager
  • Complete daily work activities directed by supervisor
  • Timely participation in meetings
  • Perform critical tasks of the role satisfactorily within 6 months of hire date with little or no supervision
  • Ability to Multi-task. Be able to handle multiple projects at the same time, and be able to self manage time constraints

After 90 days of successful integration the role will adjust to a hybrid schedule.

Pay Range

  • $70,000 - $75,000 per year
