Your main tasks
A Customer Service Mechanical Technician is responsible for the build, debug, calibration, install, and post installation of machines. They are a key participant in the customer support phases as required to meet the functionality of the customer’s system within time and system availability constraints. You will work with all internal departments and external customers to find and implement solutions to support company goals, values and philosophy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive parts from Logistics in order to assemble machinery following standard procedure
- 85% TRAVEL for customers across North America
- Accurate mechanical build and installation of stations per design
- Alignment of the machine and conveyor circuit
- Wiring and plumbing of the machine per company’s standards
- Pre-align stations with calibration
- Final alignment and fine tuning of station
- Brainstorm potential mechanical changes with the engineering team
- Install and change mechanical cams
- Run machine during debug
- Install safety guarding
- Support of the machine at customer site
- Installation system escapement, feeder, tray handler etc
- Responsible for the review of content of the Customer Service projects and support services with Service Applications and Engineering
- Support debug activities on the floor and customer site
- Responsible for accurately and timely generating the Customer Service documentation
- Responsible to treat customer funds as if they are Mikron funds
- Required to work independently on-site while being professional in stressful situations
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Mechanical Technician or equivalent experience
- Prototype machine assembly experience with pneumatics
- Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings and sketches
- Experience in welding, metal fabrication, machine shop and pneumatic systems
- Master all Mechanical Technical Level 1 trained activities based on assessment of TEM: pneumatic connection for units, standard units (P&P, MV, etc) HMI level I, standard base machine level II and other courses as required
- Ability to make sound decisions working independently or working within a team
- Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
