Mikron MultiX wins Best of Industry Award 2020

Great success for a very special platform: Mikron MultiX which already won an award at the EMO 2019 Hanover, also wins the Best of Industry Award 2020 in the category Manufacturing Technology.

The Mikron MultiX success story is entering the next round. The innovative rotary transfer machine has now also won the Best of Industry Award 2020l in the category manufacturing technology. "We are delighted to receive this award," says Walter Sayer, Head of Division Mikron Machining. "It is proof of Mikron Machining's innovative strength and shows that we are on the right track with our new products". The broad-based composition of the jury makes the award particularly valuable: the winners were decided by experts from research, editors from the MM Maschinenmarkt, and the readers of the well-known trade magazine.

For the fifth time already, the MM Maschinenmarkt awards the best products and solutions in the industry. You can find the video of the award ceremony here

Mikron MultiX already attracted a great deal of attention at the EMO 2019 in Hanover: the MM Maschinenmarkt trade magazine for the machine industry awarded the rotary transfer machine first prize for innovation in the machine tool category.

The Mikron MultiX is consistently tailored to customer requirements. It is very easy to convert and offers unique possibilities with machining solutions for the production of 50 up to 5'000'000 parts. Among the innovative features of the new platform is the simple reconfiguration for new applications: once the application for which the system was initially configured is no longer needed, the system can be easily and quickly reconfigured with a revolutionary – patented – concept. Customers can thus save the investment in a new system.

Multifunctional solution
The Mikron MultiX impresses with distinct technical features: Direct machining from the bar (turning or milling), three machining units working simultaneously at each station, multispindle-lathe and transfer machine capabilities in one single machining system.

Customers have a complete set of machining units at their disposal for their various needs: The machining units differ in size, number of axis, size of compatible spindles, strokes, stiffness, and can be exchanged within the platform and re-used in various different configurations.

Modular and user-friendly
The modular software package and the Mikron HMI interface are designed for ease of use and quick adaptability to any machine configuration. This enables a simple and efficient operation, configuration and reconfiguration of the desired machining solution.

Further flexibility is provided by scalability: customers can start producing with a single cycle Mikron MultiX configuration and add supplementary cycles according to volume growth.
