Your main tasks

The Mechanical Engineer role at Mikron Automation is ideal for professionals with foundational experience in automation and mechanical design. You’ll contribute independently to the development of scalable, high-performance automation platforms, supporting life-saving pharmaceutical and medical technologies, as well as automotive and consumer goods industries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Product Knowledge – Apply working knowledge of Mikron products, platforms, and engineering standards to support design and development.
  • Design - Independently design and integrate automation components, systems, or software.
  • Fine-Tune & Testing – Execute and support system testing, troubleshooting, and debug activities with increasing independence during development, build, and commissioning phases. Identify root causes of issues and propose solutions.
  • Customer & Project Interaction – Participate actively in internal and customer-facing meetings, providing technical input and supporting project execution.
  • Tools & Systems - Proficiently use engineering tools and systems (e.g., CAD, PDM, PLC/HMI software, vision platforms) to support design and documentation.
  • Documentation & Standards – Create, maintain, and review engineering documentation (e.g., drawings, BOMs, specifications) in accordance with project and company standards.
  • Compliance & Safety - Ensure adherence to safety protocols and engineering standards.
  • Support & Flexibility - Provide support across project phases including design, build, validation, installation, and post-installation service. Mentor junior engineers. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, automation, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in mechanical engineering methods and best practices.
  • Advanced with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor [preferred], SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
  • Advanced in 2D drawing generation, best practices, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Proficient with PDM, PLM, ERP
  • Proficient in DfX principles (DFMA, etc.)
  • Familiar with standards for design and safety of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Proficient knowledge of common manufacturing methods (mill, lathe, sheet metal, weldments, etc.)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, have a valid state driver license and be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel
  • Ability to fluently speak, read and write in English.
  • Must be able to travel or work flexible hours as required for project deliverables.
  • Mikron Corporation Denver is a drug free working environment.
  • Must be able to work on-site at least three days per week at Mikron Automation’s facility. Remote work may be permitted for up to two days per week, subject to project requirements and team alignment.

Pay Range

  • $ 75,000 - $100,000 per year
