Your main tasks
The Mechanical Engineer Level I is responsible for the mechanical engineering of equipment during the design, assembly, and debug phases of any Mikron Corporation Denver project. In conjunction with other Mechanical Engineering Department staff, they work to meet company initiatives, needs, values, operating principles and be on the forefront of mechanical engineering in the workplace.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Successful design of stations & systems to meet the budget and time expectations as defined by the ME Team Lead
- Collaborate with suppliers as requested by ME Team Lead
- Improve and develop mechanical engineering skills as requested by Engineering Manager or ME Team Lead
- Participate in Project Design reviews internally and with Customers
- Participate in weekly Customer meetings as required by ME Team Lead
- Design of mechanical cams with support of ME Team Lead or Mentor
- Support debug activities and engineering modifications for troubleshooting
- Support software design specification with the Control Engineer
- Support Validation team to create validation package per customer’s specifications
- Responsible for the creation of the assembly start package
- Responsible for the design of pneumatic schematics following project specific requirements
- Responsible for accurately and timely generating the Mechanical Engineering documentation package assigned to each customer project
- Communicate technical concepts in an open, clear, precise, and effective manner with customers, peers, colleagues of differing technical backgrounds, and all levels of management
- Assisting experienced ME’s with station designs and 2D drawing package
- Material releases in ERP system
- Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager or ME Team Lead
- Support activities during the Internal Acceptance, Factory Acceptance, installation and Site Acceptance
- Communicate design intent to Mechanical Technician Team
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Highschool Diploma, or equivalent is preferred
- BS in Mechanical Engineering degree or 5 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to read, interpret and work from Engineering Drawings CAD, DWF and PDF
- Ability to work with hands and has experience using fine motor skill tools like Allen Wrenches
- Communicates Clearly and in a professional manner
- Communication is honest and factual and is presented in a professional manner
- Works well with others and in a team environment
- Can collaborate well with others, both providing positive feedback and taking feedback from others
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to travel as requested
- Must be available to work overtime
- May be required to work off shift hours and Holidays
- Must have a valid state Driver license
