Production Planner I

Mikron experts will work closely with you to design an automated assembly system that meets your unique, industry-specific processes, whether for high-volume, medium-volume or lab-scale production. Mikron's standard systems are scalable and customizable to meet your current needs and adapt to future production requirements, without the need for costly and extensive future upgrades.
Your main tasks
The Production Planner oversees the material release process for the assembly and manufacturing processes supporting Internal Manufacturing, Preassembly, and Projects. This is a liaison between the design phase and the operations phase of the projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing Support:
- Forecast MI parts to meet project lead times.
- Review quarterly ocean shipments and adjust for unforeseen demand.
- Recommend blanket order quantities to mitigate lead times.
- Coordinate with Customer Service on procurement cycles for sales orders.
Project Management Support:
- Participate in scheduling meetings to consolidate procurement dates.
- Assist with inventory picking and calling to support build schedules.
- Collaborate with expeditor and inventory team to ensure parts availability.
- Communicate schedule deviations and updates to project teams and suppliers.
Internal Machine Shop:
- Communicate upcoming release schedules and workload.
- Create and release work orders; recommend internal vs. external fabrication.
- Maintain capacity planning and update ERP work order dates.
- Prioritize work orders to meet project and customer deadlines.

Qualifications:
- BS degree or 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with MRP systems and interpreting engineering drawings (CAD, DWF, PDF).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite; SAP experience preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to travel as requested, up to 10%
- Must be available to work overtime
- May be required to work off shift hours and Holidays
- Must have a valid state Driver license

Pay Range:
- $ 30 - $35 per hour
