Automatica 2018: Mikron inspires the public with trendsetting automation solutions

Automatica 2018, June 19 to 20, 2018 in Munich, Germany

Boudry, July 2018 – Mikron Automation presents its scalable and customized assembly solutions together with its extensive process integration experience at the 2018 Automatica show in Munich. The trade show attracted a record number of visitors and so did the Mikron Automation booth.

Mikron Automation's spectacular redesigned booth was a surprising eye-catcher at Automatica 2018, which took place in Munich from June 19 to 22, 2018. As the leading partner for scalable and customized assembly solutions, Mikron welcomed a record number of people to its booth.

Process expertise
Shimmering blue LED curtains and four big touch screens with an interactive surface – in the booth’s central area, Mikron presented its vast process know-how based on 40 years of experience and over 350 processes integrated into real production. The high-tech LED curtains turned out to be a real crowd-pleaser.

Flexible and scalable machine platforms
On the latest version of the G05 assembly platform, Mikron demonstrated a combination of different technologies: a high-performance gantry robot plus a servo-driven Pick & Place were integrated with the proven and robust cam-driven Pick & Place. This combination demonstrates the flexibility and scalability of the G05 platform.

Focused on the automotive and electrical industries, Mikron showed a fully electric linear cell, combining servo-driven axes with an electric magnetic conveyor system and a cobot. This cell is especially suitable for products with many variants which can easily be added later. The solution can also assemble and test larger parts.

On display was also a robot-equipped manual workplace, which is particularly suitable as a pilot line for medical customers when validating complex assembly processes in the early stage of a new product launch. These validated processes can later be integrated into more automated solutions without impacting the process parameters.

Industry 4.0
With a digital twin of the G05 presented, Mikron showed new methods of advanced simulation. This technology allows real-time data simulation of a physical G05 together with virtual manual workplaces and additional virtual G05 cells.

Premium Customer Service
Mikron attaches great importance to comprehensive and responsive customer service: once more, the customer service team made this clear to the enthusiastic audience with an interactive presentation.
