CrazyDrill Flex - a success: Nomination for "Trophées de l'innovation" at the Simodec fair / FR

Agno, April 18, 2012. - Mikron Tool SA Agno was present at the Simodec fair (La Roche-sur-Foron / FR, from March 6 to March 9, 2012) with his French representative AIF Cluses and has participated in the contest "Trophées de l'Innovation 2012" with the following development:
CrazyDrill Flex, the flexible solid carbide micro drill in diameter range of 0.1 to 1.2 mm is able to compensate alignment errors of machines due to its flexible center part and moreover ideal for deep hole drilling up to 30 x d.
The jury was convinced about the product innovation, as CrazyDrill Flex received a nomination and was placed in the top three innovations.
In fact, this drill is a world novelty. It allows achievement of holes in new dimensions. So far, this was possible from diameters ≥ 0.5 mm with time-consuming processes (single flute gun-drill) or it was even necessary to acquire a special machine (micro-electro erosion or laser). Now it is possible to drill small deep holes quickly (up to 10 times faster) and cost efficiently on machine centers.
