EMO 2013 in Hanover: Mikron NRG Plus and CrazyMill Cool prove a strong draw for visitors
Agno, October 2013 - "The new generation of transfer machines": Under this slogan, Mikron Machining presented the Mikron NRG Plus at EMO 2013 in Hanover in September. This innovative rotary transfer machine combines precision, productivity and flexibility to the ultimate degree. Visitors to the metalworking trade fair were also extremely interested in the Mikron Multistar LX-24, the fastest and most productive rotary machine in the world, and the CrazyMill Cool milling tool with its integrated coolant capability.
Numerous users around the world - particularly in the automotive, watchmaking, electrical engineering, and hydraulic industries - rely on Mikron NRG. Since its market launch in 2005, Mikron Machining's rotary transfer machine concept has impressed with its flexibility, productivity and accuracy. Mikron chose September's EMO 2013 metalworking trade fair in Hanover to present the latest generation in the form of Mikron NRG Plus. This machine is suitable for manufacturing cylindrical work pieces up to a diameter of 65 mm and lengths of up to 100 mm, as well as prismatic components with edge dimensions of up to 80 mm. A total of up to 30 tools can be utilized simultaneously in a single production cycle on the 12 work stations of Mikron NRG Plus. The machine can be equipped with 96 tools in all. In addition, the machine is fitted with automatic four-way tool changers (ATCs). This means that Mikron NRG Plus is able to process even highly complex machine components.
In addition to the NRG Plus, Mikron Machining also demonstrated the world's fastest and most productive rotary machine at EMO 2013: the Mikron Multistar LX-24. In a single-cycle operation it can produce up to 150 items a minute, and in a four-cycle operation up to 600 items. This makes the Mikron Multistar LX-24 ideal for high-volume production.
Mikron Tool was present at the trade fair to show its newly developed solid carbide end milling cutter CrazyMill Cool, the world's only end milling tool with integrated coolant capability in diameters ranging from 0.3 to 6 mm. CrazyMill Cool sets new standards in the milling of materials that are difficult to machine, such as stainless steel, titanium, chrome-cobalt alloys, and super alloys.
